If I were on the other team I wouldn't care during a regular season game. These games are so worthless/meaningless in the grand scheme of things, those people in the stands that are paying for you to make 8 figures a year came to see something and he gave them something to see.

With all the entertainment options available these days, if people are still shelling $200-1k to watch a glorified exhibition game then probably gotta give them something to go home smiling about if ya can.

With LeBron/Durant/Curry getting old, the league needs an American born star that casual fans can latch onto.
